U.S. Soccer Adult Council Announces Names for 2025 Adult Council Awards

ATLANTA, GA — The U.S. Soccer Adult Council, in collaboration with the Elite Soccer Fund, today announced the official names of the 2025 Adult Council Annual Awards, recognizing excellence across the highest level of adult amateur soccer in the United States.

The Adult Council Annual Awards honor the competitive achievement, organizational leadership, and sustained contribution to the amateur game. The 2025 awards will be presented this month during the U.S. Soccer Annual General Meeting in Atlanta.

Eric Wynalda 2025 Outstanding Men’s Amateur Soccer Team

Named for Eric Wynalda, former USMNT player, whose leadership of Amateur side Cal FC produced one of the most memorable runs in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup history. During the 2012 tournament, Wynalda’s amateur side defeated the USL Pro Wilmington Hammerheads 4-0 and stunned MLS’s Portland Timbers 1-0 in overtime before taking on Seattle Sounders FC in the fourth round. The Cal FC run remains one of the most iconic demonstrations of amateur competitiveness in national competition.

Tim Busch 2025 Outstanding Men’s Amateur Soccer Club

Named for Tim Busch, a long-time leader in adult amateur soccer whose impact has been felt at the state, regional, and national levels. Busch has served for decades as President of the Washington State Soccer Association, where he played a central role in expanding adult competition and strengthening club pathways. He was instrumental in the creation and long-term success of the Washington Super Cup, one of the nation’s most respected elite amateur competitions.

Kendra Halterman 2025 Outstanding Women’s Amateur Soccer Team

Named for Kendra Halterman, a leading figure in women’s amateur soccer whos work spans both team success and national league leadership. Halterman has been directly involved in the management and development of USASA Women’s National Amateur Cup champion teams, while also serving as Commissioner of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). In that role, she oversees the largest women’s elite amateur league in the United States, shaping competitive standards and expanding opportunities nationwide.

Jerry Zanelli 2025 Outstanding Women’s Amateur Soccer Club

Named for Jerry Zanelli, the founder of the Women’s Premier Soccer League, established in 1997. Zanelli created a national platform that has become the world’s largest women’s amateur soccer league, providing competitive opportunities for hundreds of clubs across North America. The league’s championship trophy, the Jerry Zanelli Cup, bears his name, underscoring his foundational role in the growth and sustainability of women’s amateur soccer.
