9 USASA Teams Take on US Open Cup

Round one of the 111th US Open Cup was held this week, and is comprised of teams all the way from MLS and USL teams to the amateurs in our leagues like NPSL, APSL, and more.

USASA is proud to share that there were 9 teams in our landscape that set foot on the pitch to compete in this event.

Here’s a recap of Round One:


Tuesday, March 17th:

CD Faialense (Bay State Soccer League) lost 4-0 in a demanding match to Rhode Island FC.

Michigan Rangers (National Premier Soccer League) lost 5-1 in a difficult match  to Detroit City FC.

West Chester United SC (United Soccer League of Pennsylvania, and reigning National Amateur Cup Champions) fell just short (2-1) in a well played matchup against Loudoun United FC.


Wednesday, March 18th:

SC Vistula Garfield (American Premier Soccer League) lost to One Knoxville SC 3-1 in a challenging match.

BOHFS St. Louis (Midwest Premier League) suffered a difficult 8-0 loss to Union Omaha.

Cruizers FC (National Premier Soccer League) were just edged out by New Mexico United in a 3-2 loss.

El Farolito (National Premier Soccer League) fought their way to extra time but then suffered a 2-0 loss to Sacramento Republic FC.


Thursday, March 19th:

Ristozi FC (National Premier Soccer League) fought hard but fell short with a 4-1 loss to Charlotte Independence.

Flower City Union (National Premier Soccer League) struggled in their matchup against Lexington SC and endured a 9-0 loss.

Although no teams are advancing, we are very proud to have these teams represent our organization and the landscape of adult amateur soccer.
