Board Member Kendra Halterman Receives Bill Bosgraaf Region IV Hall of Fame Award

Kendra Halterman’s lifelong dedication to the game of soccer has left an enduring mark on the sport, both in Utah and across the nation. From her early days as a standout youth player to captaining her high school team to a state championship to continuing to win national titles, Kendra has remained a force on the field. Off the field, she has become one of the most respected leaders in adult and women’s soccer, with a journey driven by passion, vision, and a deep commitment to service.

For over 15 years, Kendra has been a foundational force in shaping Utah’s soccer community. As a member of the Utah Adult soccer board, she played a pivotal role in uniting youth and adult soccer under the newly formed Utah Soccer Federation, where she now serves as Vice President. Her leadership has helped foster collaboration, development, and inclusion throughout the state’s soccer ecosystem.

Across the nation, Kendra’s impact is just as significant. As the current Commissioner of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL), she has overseen tremendous growth, helping establish the WPSL as one of the nation’s premier platforms for women’s soccer. Since co-founding a WPSL team in 2008, partnering with Real Salt Lake, and helping lay the foundation for the Utah Royals, Kendra has held multiple leadership roles within the league, including Delegate, West Regional Commissioner, and Associate Commissioner. In her role as Executive Director of USA Deaf Soccer, Kendra is also making a powerful impact in the deaf community. She champions access, inclusion, and excellence for deaf and hard of hearing athletes across the country, ensuring that every player has the opportunity to succeed.

Kendra’s service to USASA U.S. Soccer is equally impressive. She currently serves as the Affiliate Member Director on the USASA Board of Directors and contributes her expertise on both the USASA National Cup Committee and the U.S. Open Cup Disciplinary Committee. Her past roles have included Region IV Deputy Director, NPSL Registrar, and a member of the USASA Women’s Task Force.

A passionate player, coach, and manager, Kendra leads Pan World Women, an award-winning club with multiple state and national titles, and has coached and managed all three of her children’s youth teams. Her deep love for the game is reflected in every role she embraces, from grassroots to governance.

Kendra’s remarkable journey would not have been possible without the love and encouragement of her late husband, Rocky. His belief in her dreams and unwavering support remain a guiding force in her continued dedication to the game. Their children, Cole, Marley, and Remi, have been her greatest supporters, often by her side as she serves the soccer community.

She also honors the mentorship of the late Bill Bosgraaf, former President of Utah Soccer, whose guidance helped shape her understanding of soccer governance and inspired her enduring passion for the development of the game at every level.

Kendra Halterman’s legacy is one of vision, service, and relentless commitment to the sport she loves. Her contributions have left an indelible mark on soccer in Utah and across the nation, and continue to shape the future of the game for generations to come.
