USASA Hall of Fame

The USASA Hall of Fame was established in 2006 to honor those individuals who have significantly contributed to the growth of adult amateur soccer in the United States. Individuals inducted into the Hall of Fame include administrators, players, coaches and referees who have provided distinguished service to the USASA by contributing toward the development and advancement of adult amateur soccer at the national or regional level. Candidates may be either active or inactive in adult amateur soccer when nominated and selected individuals are inducted at the USASA AGM in the fall of each year.

Rob LaVielle

Rob LaVielle’s contributions to soccer in Florida and nationwide are exceptional. As President of the Florida State Soccer League (FSSL), he enhanced the league with competitive divisions and cups, leading teams like Kickers FC to national championships. As President of the Florida State Soccer Association (FSSA), he boosted adult participation and developed referees. Nationally, as USASA Region 3 Director and Board Member, he expanded soccer opportunities and supported key programs. His innovative leadership as a USSF Adult Council Commissioner further advanced adult soccer.

Fritz Marth

Fritz Marth’s passion for soccer began early, influenced by his German immigrant family. Growing up in New Jersey, he played for the U-10 team of the Sportsfriends Soccer Club and later became a recognized referee. After earning a Civil Engineering degree from Drexel University, he managed and coached Hoboken FC’s Men’s Reserve Team to consecutive division championships and served on the club’s Board of Directors. Nationally, Fritz’s roles have included USASA Regional Cups Commissioner, Regional Director, and USASA National Board Member. His leadership continued as Adult Commissioner for US Soccer, USASA National Cups Chairman, and USASA Vice President. In 2024, he was re-elected as an Adult Commissioner and elected to the US Soccer Federation’s Board of Directors.

Cezar Wasecki-Wislocki

Cezar Wasecki-Wislocki’s commitment to soccer is unparalleled. Starting his journey at age 7 in Sweden, he played through college and into the Bay State Soccer League in Massachusetts. His passion led him from player to team manager, league president, and eventually Mass Adult Soccer Association (MASS) president. Under his leadership, MASS improved operations, financial transparency, and registration processes, resulting in a 20% membership increase. Nationally, he served on the USASA Board of Directors and chaired major tournaments.

Criteria for Selection

To be considered for induction into the USASA Soccer Hall of Fame, candidates shall be nominated as either administrators, coaches, players, or referees, and shall meet the criteria specified for that category. Individuals meeting the qualifications under two or more categories may be nominated for consideration under a single category, using primary/secondary categories, or specifying multiple categories.

All nominees shall be chosen on the basis of having made a significant contribution toward the development and advancement of adult amateur soccer at the national or regional level.

Listed below is the criteria for each category. Candidates may be either active or inactive in adult amateur soccer when nominated, and are eligible after their retirement. Deceased persons, if elected, shall be inducted posthumously.

Administrator

Administrator candidates shall include persons who have served as officers of national, regional, or state organizations and, in their capacities, have rendered exceptional service to adult amateur soccer over an extended period of time. This category also includes those apart from these capacities that, by their assistance, sponsorship, or other valuable contribution, have furthered the development of adult amateur soccer in the United States.

Coaching

Coaching candidates shall be those who have served the adult amateur soccer community in a coaching capacity over an extended period of time, exhibiting exceptional coaching and teaching ability, as well as coaching success at the national, regional, and/or state levels. Candidates should also have contributed to the promotion and growth of a positive image for adult amateur soccer and its programs.

Player

Player candidates shall have played at the national, regional, or state select team level or equivalent for a combined minimum period of five years; at the regional or state level for a combined minimum period of eight years; or at the state level for a minimum period of twelve years, while exhibiting the attributes of teamwork and advanced technical playing skills, implementing tactical abilities, demonstrating an ability to read the game, and using the principles of Fair Play and respect for other players. Nominees must have also demonstrated a love and respect for the game in general and for adult amateur soccer specifically during their days as a player.

Referee

Referee candidates shall have served the adult amateur soccer community in a refereeing capacity over an extended period of time, and shall have achieved a national grade and above. Other factors to be considered shall include, but not be limited to: participation in State and National cups; participation in national programs such as the Select Program, Donnelly Cup, Veteran’s Cup, etc.; and other activities such as mentoring, instructing, assessing, within adult amateur soccer.
