When is the claim submission deadline?
All accident medical claims must be submitted within 90 days of the date of injury. Late submissions may result in denial of benefits.
Are coaches and referees considered participants?
Coaches and referees are considered participants when actively engaged in sanctioned practices, matches, tournaments, or approved events. Coverage applies only while performing official duties.
Who should I contact about the status of a claim?
Once a claim is submitted and an acknowledgement letter is issued, all questions and claim status inquiries must be directed to the insurance carrier listed on the letter. USASA is not involved in claim processing after submission.
Does coverage apply to games held against unaffiliated teams?
Such competitions are permitted if reviewed and approved by the member association or USASA. Only affiliated players are covered under the USASA Player Accident Insurance. Non-affiliated players are not covered and may not carry equivalent insurance protection.
